1. Chewing of Sesame seeds

One of the most effective way to break down the tartar and plaque is to chew the sesame seeds(preferably black seeds).
All you need to do is take a spoonful of sesame seeds and just chew the seeds for around 4-5 minutes until it mixes well with the saliva and oil generated by sesame seeds is very great for your teeth and helps in removing build up tartar and plaque. It will also help in building up of tooth enamel.
You can do it in any time of day after chewing, you can either swallow the seeds or spit it out. Remember to drink a lot of water after the process.
2. Chewing of the Fennel seeds

Fennel seeds are used in many dishes and food items because of its flavor and taste and chewing them is super good for your teeth health.
Take a spoonful of the Fennel seeds and let it chew for some time and the saliva from the mouth will eventually increase and mixes well with the seeds. It is indeed great way to kill the bad bacteria and getting rid of tartar and plaque build up in your teeth.

3. Oil Pulling

Oil pulling is one of the most common and easy method that has been used extensively since ancient times to successfully get rid of tartar build up, plaque, gum diseases like gingivitis, bleeding and receding of gums.
All you need to do is to take a teaspoon of sesame oil or coconut oil and pour it into a glass and add same amount of water to it. Shake it well and swish them gently for 5-10 minutes inside your mouth.
After that you need to do is to spit it out, you shouldn’t swallow it. Remember not to eat any kind of foods for half an hour. You can do it on alternate days and most preferably after foods.
4. Chewing of Guava leaves

This is indeed an easy way to remove your tartar and plaque accumulation on your teeth. If guava trees or leaves are available in your area, then you are very lucky.
Take 2-3 new leaves of guava from the tree itself, then wash them and chew it for about 3-4 minutes. After chewing, it mixes well with the saliva produced from the mouth and will break down the plaque and tartar, besides they are also good for other oral teeth health.
After chewing you have to spit out the paste and floss with the water. You can do it any time of the day whatever time you wish.

5. Orange peels and Baking soda
One of the less known tips to remove your tartar and plaque is the use of orange peels. Yes, you heard it right!
Take some orange peels and let them dry in the sunlight for 3-4 days. The peels will eventually become hardened. Then it should be grind in a blender to make it a powder form. In a container, take 3 teaspoon of the dried powdered orange peels and to it add a teaspoon of baking soda and salt(for cooking). Now mix them well and you can start brushing gently by dipping the brush in the mixture.
This should be done only once in a week because, orange peels are slightly acidic and baking soda are mild abrasive in nature. After brushing, wash your mouth water as usual in case of normal brushing.
6. Chewing Xylitol Gums

Xylitol, natural sugar alcohol that are found in plants, fruits and vegetables are extremely helpful for your teeth as they have anti bio-film properties which heals adhesion to the teeth.
So, if you are going to chew gums, make sure it has xylitol in it. All you have to do is to take chewing gums which have xylitol and just chew them, that’s it, as easy as a blink of an eye!
Other natural herbs that has anti bio-films properties include rosemary, clove, garlic, thyme, oregano and cinnamon to name a few.

7. Baking Soda and Hydrogen Peroxide

Baking soda as the name suggest have been used in different baking process such as making of cakes, breads, and many other dishes. Besides, they are also used in cleansing purposes.
When there is tartar accumulation, it will result in producing more acid. There is the need of maintaining the Ph of the acid in the normal level or slightly above it, but not too much. One of the major reason for producing too much acid is the consuming of sugar in your diet, or if you are a diabetic. This is the one which allows the bacteria to thrive. So using baking soda is a great way to increase Ph and make it more alkaline which results in preventing from decalcification.
Hydrogen peroxide is used by the cells to kill the microbes inside the body. It is in the saliva as the body makes it itself. It is a very good compound that suppress the bio-films from developing, and can kill yeast, bad bacteria.
Steps
- Take 1/4 teaspoon of baking soda in half a glass/cup of water.
- Add the same amount of Hydrogen Peroxide(3%) to it.
- Then brush your teeth with this mixture with the help of toothbrush after finishing brushing with the toothpaste.
This way of brushing will definitely help in preventing the bio-films to develop thus helping in removal of tartar and plaque resulting in very nice, smooth and shinny teeth.
